Foster Change in Nevada?

Nevada mapOnly about 50 percent of foster kids graduate from high school, compared to more than 80 percent of students living with their families. The odds are even more daunting for getting a college education. National statistics show that less than 10 percent of former foster youth will obtain a bachelor’s degree.

The Nevada System of Higher Education has joined the ranks of 28 other states that are increasing the chances of educational access and success for our state’s foster children who have aged out of the system.   Read the rest
