West Chester University Students make Christmas brighter for 28 Foster care children

Thanks to the contributions of 120 West Chester University students, Christmas will shine brighter for 28 children in foster care.

This is the 20th year that students have held a festive holiday party and presented gifts to kids in foster care. This year’s group is from Children’s Home of York.

Tuesday, students were busy decorating a student lounge in Killinger Hall for Thursday’s, “The Giving Tree” event. The children will enjoy arts and crafts, with special visits from Santa, Mrs. Claus and several elves.

“It’s pretty good to see the look on kid’s faces when Santa gives them a gift,” Allison Short, a junior studying social work said.

The kids will get a big surprise on Christmas morning when additional gifts are handed out.
