Fill a Duffle Bag for Cleveland’s foster children during the holidays

CLEVELAND — Imagine going on trip and when you start packing, you have no suitcase to use so you just throw your stuff in a trash bag. That’s what many kids in foster care do all the time. They often move multiple times and have only trash bags to transport their stuff.

Fostering Hope wants to change that. The non-profit was established in 2013 to raise awareness of the challenges faced by children within the foster care system. One simple way to do that is to provide the kids with Journey Bags.

A Journey Bag is a brand new large duffle bag filled with comfort items and toiletries a child can call his or her own. It’s filled with things like a blanket, a stuffed animal, a water bottle, and a pillow.

According to Fostering Hope, Journey Bags send a message, “You matter, you are not trash.”
